Bürkle gets the largest individual order of the company's history
MAJA Group, manufacturer of fragmented furniture with production sites in Kasendorf in Franconia and in Wittichenau in Saxony, will expand its production area in Wittichenau by approximately 40,000 square metres in the course of an investment of 50 million Euros.
From middle of 2013 MAJA Group will manufacture light weight construction furniture of type series "Expedit" for IKEA in large-scale.
Some essential plants will be delivered by system supplier BÜRKLE in Freudenstadt. Apart from the lightboard production line, BÜRKLE will also supply the lines for workpiece finishing with finish foil, lacquer or with indirect gravure printing.
The new MAJA factory is planned for the production of up to 15,000 furniture parts in 3-shift operation. This corresponds to 200,000 single parts per day.
A surface of 50,000 square metres will be printed and lacquered on the lines from Freudenstadt and up to 40,000 square metres will be laminated with finish foil.
After a planning and design engineering phase of several months as well as viewings of different reference lines, MAJA decided in favour of the solution of system supplier BÜRKLE in Freudenstadt. Apart from an ideal price-performance-ratio, the harmonious total package, the high plant availability as well as the individual plant solutions adapted to the needs of MAJA have been the decisive factors.
Now the production lines will be designed and built in three German BÜRKLE sites in Freudenstadt, Mastholte and Paderborn, be delivered by the end of the year and installed and commissioned in Wittichenau in the first quarter of 2013.
